  1. The nebulosity in the larger Pleides stars is unreal, I know its been edited but its still unreal ! Even with my NP101 conditions have to be just right with say a Morpheus ep.
  2. I have to ask, has anyone grabbed / picked up the Central Star in the Ring Nebula with their SS ? It would be a real challenge, even with some pretty good conventional scopes it is / can be ! Usually conventional AP has been the answer.
  3. Thats a nice filter holder, just less time consuming and simple than the one I just bought. Does it fit snug enough ? I shouldn't ask here but I will, would you ship to Canada ? I don't care the cost !
  4. Just remember ' you only live once ', lol !
  5. You are on the right track, I am 75 yrs. old and my thoughts coincide with your post. Either smart scope is a great compliment to lugging around a telescope, its a new challenge, it can create excitement ! You will know the time to jump in and you won't regret it.
  6. I am thinking the same, is this not the SeeStar posted thread ? All 26 pages. Many times I really can't understand your posts save to denigrate the SeeStar and its great performance, there has to be something good to say on its own thread, surely ! I am bewildered !
  7. Do all these ....... guys not think that SS will come out with the same capabilities as DII probably only better as they are doing now ? If you don't, your dreams continue, lol ! The proof is in the pudding, naysayers or no naysayers ! Interestingly you haven't shown anything but idle words, lol ! PS: Carry on McDuffs !
  8. Take it as you want ! But you know exactly my point !
  9. The terrestrial work (stuff) is top of the line in every way !
  10. I am staying with what I said which is from actual experience, with both, I really don't care if anyone pays attention. And you are wrong about the money issue because if it is with some they are in the wrong hobby, astro is no place to hem and haw, nickel and dime, lol ! PS: Keep reading that post I am sure you will get the point, hopefully ! PPS: I love those accessories that I just received, 3D or no 3D !
  11. When it comes to these new, low cost smart scopes money should never be the driving factor, the S50 is a driving factor, that is being proven in every new performance, features and ease of use video being put out. If you want to hear a little jingle in your pocket, ride in the back seat and hang on !
  12. Good Luck ! I sold my Dwarf II before my S50 arrived. I like the narrower FOV but the huge increase in detail over the fainter, wider views. For me a few dollars difference is not the big thing in all of this, never is.
  13. My 2" fiiter bracket from the UK, my dust cap and dew shield from Hong Kong all just arrived. Fit well and well built, all for about $70 C.
  14. SS in their question / answer section of their site give an overview of the filter issue.
  15. Thats what I thought but lets some of us confirm that next good nite.
  16. I will closly check next time but I thought that the LP filter turned on / off depending on the target you select or you can manually select its operation as well ? I just shoot everything, I note it is green many times but I don't pay a lot of attention and haven't had a bad shot yet. I will make it a point to try every possiblity next time out.
  17. With faint galaxies like M33, M101 you have to let it shoot, with the filters for 10-13 min and the skies don't have to be real great seeing / transparency wise. I am in a Bortle 4-5 zone and on a bad nite B6. In most cases, in those zones, filters are a must have.
  18. You should have, it would have taken about 10 sec.
  19. Just pick them out of Sky Safari or similar.
  20. I have started to use Lightroom to do editing instead of the two that I have always used, it is several levels higher in capabilities, as can be seen. I really like it ! PS: The only PITA is that while you are working away on some, but not all, photos they flash their Premium version on the screen, they want you to rent it for a yearly rate.
  21. Got it ! When I hit edit I then single tap not double tap the photo, it highlites in blue, that I want to delete and the keyboard stays up and then I just delete it. Thanx !
  22. As I mention I don't have access to a keyboard to type anything while highliting the image, the keyboard is on screen and is not visible at that point. I would have to have a keyboard accessory connected to do what you say, lol !
  23. It doesn't work that way with an ipad air, I can get it to change color but there is no key board at that point, I don't use an external keyboard therefore no on screen delete key.
  24. I reduced the size of the photos to what I want but the original larger sized photos are still there also, how do I now delete them ?
