  1. Thanx but I already have these save for the mask !
  2. You are correct, I used to use a reusable shower cap over the bottom of my dobs, I just ordered an oversized, elastisized one from Amazon for $15 C. Thanx ! PS: One of these days they will come out with a cover specificly for the smart scopes, no doubt but at a premium price.
  3. Here is another question / issue that I might have missed, has anyone found or have a water / moisture proof cover / hood for the SS or D2 scopes ? Something just the right size with a draw string or velcro fastener. Just to protect it before or after a session, I don't mean leaving it out in a rain storm.
  4. Even in Canada they are only $350 and everything you say is exactly my thoughts. Try it with a couple of Morpheus eps, for that price it's pretty big competition even for my NP101 but at lower powers. I wish every fellow refractor astronomer could see what the future has in store from Svbony and I am not the only one.
  5. Watch an episode or two of ' Suits ', lol !
  6. You'll get it and it won't take you as long as you think ! Its basically a version of plug n play, really !
  7. I do but with a little touch up with my ipads editor and now a bit with Lightroom, you couldn't get much better with my eyes but then again I am not real fussy. I bought it to have some fun as an alternative to my refractors and ha work, its a great, new field of astronomy ! The amazing thing is that the SS is so simple to learn, to use !
  8. It maybe a bit loose but when the SS lens is pointing straight down the cap still holds tight. That tells me it was designed to that diameter. ** Sorry wrong cap, I got mine at AliExpress, has the name ZWO SeeStar embossed on it ! It fits perfectly.
  9. I install mine inside my house before going out, I activate my SS, hit solar mode and the SS starts to find the sun while in the house, when it reaches about 45° I hit stop and put on the filter, then I carry it outside and finish doing my setup and solar work. Works great, works fast, not one issue, every time !
  10. You must have really been chompin' to get out there and use it to have even bothered, in those sky conditions ? Nice try though !
  11. The nebulosity in the larger Pleides stars is unreal, I know its been edited but its still unreal ! Even with my NP101 conditions have to be just right with say a Morpheus ep.
  12. I have to ask, has anyone grabbed / picked up the Central Star in the Ring Nebula with their SS ? It would be a real challenge, even with some pretty good conventional scopes it is / can be ! Usually conventional AP has been the answer.
  13. Thats a nice filter holder, just less time consuming and simple than the one I just bought. Does it fit snug enough ? I shouldn't ask here but I will, would you ship to Canada ? I don't care the cost !
  14. Just remember ' you only live once ', lol !
  15. You are on the right track, I am 75 yrs. old and my thoughts coincide with your post. Either smart scope is a great compliment to lugging around a telescope, its a new challenge, it can create excitement ! You will know the time to jump in and you won't regret it.
  16. I am thinking the same, is this not the SeeStar posted thread ? All 26 pages. Many times I really can't understand your posts save to denigrate the SeeStar and its great performance, there has to be something good to say on its own thread, surely ! I am bewildered !
  17. Do all these ....... guys not think that SS will come out with the same capabilities as DII probably only better as they are doing now ? If you don't, your dreams continue, lol ! The proof is in the pudding, naysayers or no naysayers ! Interestingly you haven't shown anything but idle words, lol ! PS: Carry on McDuffs !
  18. Take it as you want ! But you know exactly my point !
  19. The terrestrial work (stuff) is top of the line in every way !
  20. I am staying with what I said which is from actual experience, with both, I really don't care if anyone pays attention. And you are wrong about the money issue because if it is with some they are in the wrong hobby, astro is no place to hem and haw, nickel and dime, lol ! PS: Keep reading that post I am sure you will get the point, hopefully ! PPS: I love those accessories that I just received, 3D or no 3D !
  21. When it comes to these new, low cost smart scopes money should never be the driving factor, the S50 is a driving factor, that is being proven in every new performance, features and ease of use video being put out. If you want to hear a little jingle in your pocket, ride in the back seat and hang on !
  22. Good Luck ! I sold my Dwarf II before my S50 arrived. I like the narrower FOV but the huge increase in detail over the fainter, wider views. For me a few dollars difference is not the big thing in all of this, never is.
  23. My 2" fiiter bracket from the UK, my dust cap and dew shield from Hong Kong all just arrived. Fit well and well built, all for about $70 C.
  24. SS in their question / answer section of their site give an overview of the filter issue.
