  1. Early seeing was lovely today , sadly I had no time to faff about with close-ups ... 😒
  2. Decent seeing first thing , but the wind was still gusting well and the Evostar 150's a big old lump , so close-ups were fun to catch ... 😆
  3. Ropey conditions out there , but a gap's a gap so happy to have seen him again ...
  4. You weren't talking about photography , you were complaining about your eyesight whilst at the eyepiece. Your best bet woud be to visit a healthcare professional regarding your eyes instead of speculating on an astronomy forum on something that would appear to be a medical issue.
  5. The simple answer is ... when participating in astronomical observation leave your electronic "devices" , be they laptops , tablets or the ubiquitous 'smartphone' indoors well away from the observation point , i.e. the telescope. And try not staring at the phone all day long if you're worried about it affecting your eyes .... !
  6. Love the way the lightbridge tendrils are reaching out like two tiny pairs of arms ...
  7. Clouds weren't co-operating today so no close-up view just the full discs ... 😒
  8. Just switching from the Moon to Venus wouldn't throw the focus out by that much ... 😉
  9. I'd guess that there's a spacer/extension missing from the set-up somewhere , or one fitted that's not needed , for the image to be that far from focus .
  10. Thanks Geoff , hope you get to catch it before it slips from view.
  11. Poor seeing again but at least I saw it today . Disc .... Evostar 150 + EOS 6D + 2.2x Barlow + ND5.0 + Oiii. Close-up .... Evostar 150 + Altair 174MM Hypercam + 2x Barlow + ND5.0 + Baader Continuum + UV/IR Cut. (Scaled 130%)
  12. Very hasty session in poor seeing ...
  13. That's a proper 'Sun'day mate ...
  14. The clue is stamped on the video Stu ... the data is from the SDO/HMI Continuum stream , all the SDO wavelengths are available to download and play with. I'd do well to capture 24 hours a day even if the weather co-operated ... 😆
  15. On the contrary Stu , it was lovely and stady up there . I just spent too long harvesting full disc frames and the clouds returned just as I got the 174 plugged in so the close-up was just 60 rough frames , there was nigh on as much detail in the full disc from the 2000D ... 😆
  16. Another early grab in the sliver of clear sky between the rain ... 😉
  17. My capture of this week's star of the show taken on the 8th July. Evostar 150 + Altair 174mm.
  18. Another lovely session , little quicker today as there was only a brief sliver of blue.
  19. Well that was a proper session on a glorious summer day ... And a montage of close-ups , I think I got everything ... 😉
  20. More playing camera-wise , chucked the 90D on today , the biggun was a little further round than NASA/SDO showed ...
  21. Dreadful seeing so not a great test , but better than yesterday's offering at least ... 😉
  22. One frame more than I should have got to be honest , but it was nice to say goodbye to the monster AR before it slips from view ... 😏
