That'd be an "Americanism" pure and simple , I'm sure they mispronounce our language just for the hell of it ... 😄

5 min video of Sun in UV including the 3 recent X flares

You just need to download "JHelioviewer" and you can access all of NASA's historical SDO data and make your own videos from it ... 😉 -

A little more info would be handy , i.e. camera make and model. Presuming you're talking about previewing images you've just shot on the camera ... ? When you zoom in to 10x you have to scroll around with the navigation button to find small details. The info will be in the instruction book. -
And "Barlow" ... 😉

Well as it's somebody's name I think that's rather petty and schoolyard-like , how would you like folk to start referring to something related to you as Jabba or Neddie rather than your real name ... 😄

1st session of the year! Huge AR in white light
Steve Ward replied to Pete Presland's topic in Imaging - Solar
I wasted ten minutes this morning trying to figure why the view was all fuzzy and washed out with a bright clear sky ... ? Nice coat of condensation on both the Barlow and the objective (both hidden by filters) will do it after a frosty night ... hairdryer to the rescue ... -

Maximum viewing pleasure
Steve Ward replied to Flame Nebula's topic in Discussions - Scopes / Whole setups
So why restrict the 1000x potential to such limited use , surely it'd be used on everything especially planets , a little far-fetched would be my continuing belief. Anyone else using 1000x mag out there , I'm intrigued now. -

And exactly what EP is employed in a 100mm 'scope to give perfect views at 1000x magnification ... ? A magic 0.74mm TV of some description ... ? -
Lovely capture there ... So sorry to see that the image attracted so many idiots over on FB ...
