Well looks like I will be doing some drilling and tapping, then figure out some kind of centre bolt to hold the spreader on and mount.

These bolts dont fit anywhere on this mount I am seriously considering buying a new tripod but knowing my luck after I have put a wanted ad out I will buy one and a second hand one will turn up.

I have bought a Supposedly EQ6 tripod got no centre bolt or north pin I thought it was a Celestron advanced vx tripod but the Rother valley have said its a old EQ6.

Can anybody show me how to fit a Geoptik HEQ5 Tripod Adaptor For EQ6 2" Tripod to a EQ6 Tripod please. For future reference please.

I think best thing is to try and sell on with a proper discription and chalk it up to experience. Thanks everyone.

I got pictures Stu and it looked like a EQ6 Tripod all together with the spreader plate showing some paint missing as described, when it turned up no spreader bolt no north pin if that's what you call it and when I put the adaptor plate on it did not fit, I then went on Google and found it wasn't even a EQ6 Tripod. Really hacked me off I know it's £50 but how much am I going sell that for now with parts missing. This is what was sent

When I went to pay with PayPal I put £50 In but it changed it to $58+ USD he refunded that then said pay by bank transfer, I am sure he manovered it this way so I would have no redress. It was not bought on SGL I have never had any problems buying items from here.

Can anyone advise as what to do when been mis-sold an item from this or any other site and the seller will not refund the money please.

My nemesis M51 I have only seen this once through Damian`s Dob, I have tried from home with a 6 & 8 inch reflector and a 4 & 5 inch refractor no luck. Great read I doubt I would see any of the galaxies in the makarains chain. Stay safe everyone.

Thanks Steve, I have two bad discs and arthritis in my spine one disc is bulging causing sciatica but I am on new tablets which combined with nerve tablets I was on top of the pain and looking forward to going out. Then halfway down stairs my back decided my leg wasnt there leg give way I came crashing down no idea when I am going get out now. Thank you for wishes I appreciate that. Best wishes Paul

Hi I have checked a EQ6 Tripod looks like this on top I suspect yours did Where as the one I have been sent is this with no centre bolt or north peg. Nothing matches up so I am sending it back if the fella will accept a return and put a wanted add on for a proper EQ6 tripod but thank you ever so much this will be handy when I do get the EQ6 mount.

No that never came with it and more research it is a Celestron AVX mount has not come with the north peg either, I have messaged the fella I need send it back. Thanks everyone.

The holes in the top are too small for the bolts that have come with the adaptor thanks.

I got a head torch from poundland sent for some red sticky back paper two pieces and it's brilliant. In fact I have been out and bought a couple more for when I go camping so the family has one each. Just like this one.

I use Hass and the Cambridge double star atlas for my doubles and multiples. I have other books to look for galaxy's, clusters and nebulas
