      yes mate, you will catch a lot more detail than I get with my frac, I should borrow my sons c8 before its outa range of my window, I might try the 200p tonight if I get chance.

      Do you have Sun this morning? Was clear earlier here but clouded out now. Still, managed to get some WL and Ca-K data to play with.

      yes mate ive just posted my pics, seeings not great but the AR is looking nice through the live view, with some nice filament dancing in the plasma, theres a nice prom too.

  4. Up @ 6 to image the Sun, only to find laptop has failed again! 2nd time in about 3 weeks. That's it time for Linux Mint.

      Thanks Charl. Looks like the same issue but I suspect the HD is on the way out as the root cause. Not sure what to do now!

      get another hd thay only take a few minutes to fit + a hour or so to put your programes on and other stuff, i keep all my astro stuff on a 2tb portable harddrive and thats backed up on another hd just to be on the safe side. hope you get it sorted soon .charl.

      yer ive been bizzy changing the thermal paste on the gpus on my gaming rig, it was dry as a bone, there running 10deg lower now.

  7. What a frustrating afternoon trying to image the Sun through "sucker holes". Almost wish I had been at work!

      that bad mate, much the same for me thismorning,i ended up deleting 80% of frames. yer mate i like our focusers,i brought after reading your review, it worked straight outa the box, fitted it in 5min, put the laser on it and it was spot on center, thay have a nice movement, and not too pricey. hope it clears for you. charl.

  9. With all this Sun the last few days I'm having to try really hard not to press the trigger on a new  ZWO ASI 178MM for solar imaging :ohmy:
