  1. That's in great condition, any idea how old it is?
  2. Wow Stu, you're a one man frac moral machine!
  3. I think so too Earl, only to be spoiled by the tupperware dish dust cap, I probably need to find/make something a bit more authentic
  4. Come to the dark side and post a pic of your Telementor http://stargazerslounge.com/topic/245216-show-us-your-frac/ Sorry for the heresy
  5. Just testing my Skylight 60mm f16 and C100ED on my new Skytee II, and I thought I'd try and boost moral with the frac clan after reading the "show me your dob" thread
  6. Lots of great scopes on this thread I put this little one together a year ago using an Altair 150p f/5 OTA. The idea was that it would be practice before building a larger truss Dob but that didn't happen. Now Dobless I'm off to boost moral for the frac clan with a 'show me you frac' thread
  7. Crikey how did I miss this thread! Brilliant project, nice one
  8. How can they ask so much for a pier plate?!?! I just use the head of the tripod bolted to a blank ali plate with a hole in the middle, seems to work fine and cost about 8 pounds for the ali.
  9. Really great guide which I'm sure a lot of us will benefit from What a massive difference start to finish!
  10. The Talisker eyepiece is a nice edition, just watch out for the severe ghosting of objects after prolonged use
  11. Looks very good tingting, really sharp detail and good colour balance. I'd be very very pleased if i had done it!
  12. Ok, I think you've proved beyond a shadow of doubt that you're the ultimate widefield junky of us all Congratulations Tom and Olly I hope you get this outstanding (and in a league of its own!) mosaic commissioned, it truly deserves it! I know I'm going to enjoy looking at the Jpeg fro some time, so thanks for sharing
  13. On the plus side, this thread is about to celebrate it's hundredth page!
  14. Wow! and I'm not just saying that!
  15. Yes, they do make me fancy chocolate thinking about it
  16. Down to just my William Optics 10x50 ED BA8's at the moment. Pin sharp over 80% FOV, built like a tank, and they look like they've been dipped in chocolate
  17. I sold one of these little beauties about a year ago and had little luck with imaging ever since! I rejoined the club a couple of weeks ago
  18. The mount will probably give you a bigger headache, but its fun to try these things, good luck
  19. I found this link, could be simply because Argon is less reactive? http://www.skiesunlimited.com/Eyepieces/Explore-Scientific-82-Degree/
  20. Would Nitrogen be more expensive than Argon when Nitrogen forms the main bulk of Earths atmosphere?
  21. You're correct, the older ones are Nitrogen and the newer ones are Argon. Its interesting to speculate why they changed ?
  22. No difference visually. I think Argon would escape more slowly than Nitrogen as Argon is more than twice as heavy. I think maybe that could be why they switched to Argon perhaps?
