  1. Congrats Roy, I really like the candy apple red with the brass, it's stunning. Hope you enjoy the Zeiss with it now it's a bit shorter
  2. Looks great dave! I meant to reply to your other thread. I'm very much looking forward to your thoughts on this scope when compared to your stable of long fracs. This should be interesting
  3. Hey Phil, good to hear from you buddy What an amazing setup you have there! Cheers for the offer, I'll have to find an excuse to go down the A12 so I can come and have a look, especially if it's sunny so I can look through that monster Lunt of yours
  4. Wow that's one big Lunt! Literally makes my Lunt 35 look like a finderscope.
  5. Nice one Garry Like Derek I had to sit on my hands, suppose to be selling not buying! Great bargain though so I bet plenty of use were tempted by it. It would be great to hear your thoughts on it? I have the 5" f/9.4 version and the optics are lovely for an achro, and a bargain at the new price net alone second hand
  6. That's good to hear Garry, sounds like a gooden
  7. You got one then, I saw that you were after one on ABS I like the upgraded focuser knob. Looks like one of the earlier models because the gold is shiney not speckled. Just to check, what colour is the objective? I know some of the earlier models had problems with rusting where the objective goes a cloudy orange colour, still usuable but less contrast apparently.
  8. Nice series of images, it's interesting to see the difference imaging wise between different scopes Maybe you could start a thread called 'show us your Moon image' Seriously though, that might be a pretty good idea for the imaging section
  9. Nice Derek I've always wondered if using a semi apo filter would make imaging possible with one of these scopes?
  10. My thoughts exactly I came close to buying one of his 4" f/11 red Rocket models for my upcoming 40th birthday, but settled on a cheaper option in the end (probably a good thing at the moment). If I'm still lusting after one in a years time I'll have to have a word with Mark
  11. Very impressive collection of fracs, wow 10 of them!
  12. My knees go a bit wobbly when I see Moonraker scopes in C3PO livery. I bet you either love or hate scopes in gold.
  13. My latest aquisition, very good session with the beasty Bresser AR127L last night.
  14. Don't worry, your finder scope kind of counts, technically speaking
  15. hehe, I've not forgot honest I'm hoping to get some daytime pics with it setup on the Skytee, and grab some white light at the same time. Hopefully it will be dryer this weekend, we've had a lot of rain in Suffolk recently, I've just got in drenched from work half hour ago and I'm contemplating building an Ark! I managed a very rushed first light a few nights ago, the clouds were rolling in fast from the south so just had enough time to swing it round to capella to test the intra-extra focus rings. Initial verdict is that it's a very well corrected 5" achro. Simply amazes me you can get this much scope for 250 quid, Mwahahah!
  16. I asked about this scope on ABS and saw close up pics of the tube. It was enough to know that it really needed some good TLC which I no longer have time for. You sir have given it 100% warp factor 10 TLC, it went to very good home, fantastic job
  17. Good luck for tonight, Looks like a quality VA setup
  18. Hehe, I think so Derek, as I also bought a Baader super sky surfer V from the clearence section the other day Still, it's all relative I guess, before this I was eyeing up the ES 127 triplet, then the Evolution C9.25! I feel quite relieved to have gone with the budget option to get my scope fix I'll probably pinch your plan Derek, and try it against the C100ED and keep the one I prefer.
  19. Just ordered the AR127L from Bresser.de
  20. That's valuable info, I'll very much bare this in mind, thanks John It's very hard to argue with the new price of the 127L, otherwise I could just wait and see which of Derek's scopes he sells
