Is that William Optics Losmandy style dovetail blue one you have?
No it's a Farpoint Losmandy style dovetail.

Firstly you have to consider your maximum weight your AZ-EQ6 can carry for your imaging purposes. This will determine what size scope you can use. and you are going to use an additional QHY 163M camera you may be adding an additional filter wheel, which adds further weight. If you are happy with the fov of your existing scope why not duplicate what you have. Are you looking at a side by side setup? Unfortunately as my setup is installed in a domed observatory with a 520mm wide slit to image through I had to use a stacked scope setup.

That is one great image of the Milky Way. To say it's your first image amazes me. Please don't go into deep sky imaging and make my attempts look feeble.....

Great image Robin. Your processing efforts have really brought out the detail in NGC 2359.

Excellent images on a difficult subject, great stail and colour for 6hrs imaging time. You must have nice skies.

I've had a 3" SCT diamond Steeltrack for 6 months and it is buttery smooth.

The wheels / bearings look nice & clean
I was going to replace all my bearings but, on inspection, they were fine. I did however change all the bolts and nuts to stainless steel.

No i got 40 teeth gear off ebay had not heard of hpc gears belt is 87 teeth
I used HPC gears extensively when designing automated assembly machines a few years back. I have built three autofocusers and used Robert Brown's myFocuserPro2 designs.

Great project, well thought out and as the images show, works perfectly. I want to make one of these when I have finished my other projects, but mine will be painted fluorescent yellow so I can see it in the dark

Nice work. The back plate blends in nicely with the rear of the Mak. Btw did you get the gears and timing belt from our local company HPC Gears?

Sorry I didn't realize you had a Newtonian telescope. I would certainly have a look at a refractor style of telescope for your next purchase and you don't need a full apochromatic if you use it for NB. If you are considering an OSC camera, investigate the quality of your skies if you have excessive LP it can be problematic in processing your colour images. I use a mono camera for NB and an OSC camera for RGB and in some instances the RGB can be tricky to process. I live in a Bortle 6 sky.
