  1. Does anyone have any experience of suing the Celestron NexYZ 3-AXIS Universal Smartphone Adapter fir quick snaps shots and is it a positive addition you would recommend for visual astronomers who do t want to spend or have the hassle of more serious AP?
  2. I agree. I have the 102 startravel and a 127 Mak - the 102 is my preferred scope and give great wide field views and I’ve had brilliant images of Jupiter using the Barlow does help also - I’d never part with the 102 and personally pick it over the Mak any day
  3. Set up and ready for tonight ! Clear skies until 7 🔭💫🌒🥶
  4. That makes sense - which 9x50 scope would you recommend
  5. So would you recommend the 9x50 scope (I have the azi GTI) and a release/rigel or will the 9x50 work well with the RDF ?
  6. A 9x50 finder scope plus a regel. - can I ask why both are needed ?
  7. I was thinking the Baader - how come you’ve never used it ?
  8. Depends what you want to do /see is it visual or AP and do you have a budget?
  9. I have a refractor and a Mak so thinking the Regel should be a good bet. any advice on LP filters for visual would be welcome
  10. Hi all - any recommendations for quality LP filter for visual use - I’m considering going back to visual and giving up on EAA after several attempts now to get any kind of on screen image from using the asi224mc camera also looking to get a regel finder to replace the red dot finder - is a RACI required or recommended?
  11. Without doubt if you can lift it and store it go for 10”
  12. Bresser 127 is a full 127 the SW is 119 in aperture not a true 127 , worth consideration over the sky max
  13. I would avoid the SLT mount for imaging if any kind and tbh it’s not great for visual - how about a small refractor int he AZI GTI mount - I know it’s over budget but I doubt you get an AP up for less
  14. I have the startravel 102 and I can confirm it’s a quality scope - the CA s imo exaggerated and I have had a beautiful view of Julian’s the 4 moons with clear sight in Jupiters bands - i would highly recommend it
  15. Yea amazing few hours with that scope tonight - just gutted it’s bedtime, work tomorrow and it’s a lovely clear night here
  16. Welcome from Preston 👍🏼
  17. Well not to be undeterred I quickly set up at 7 tonight knowing I had approximately 2 hours of clear sky. Firstly I was able to align perfectly to Jupiter and Pollux which was the next brightest I could see - absolutely spot on! So that issue what ever it was is resolved. i was using the startravel 102 - what a beauty of a scope it is - absolute keeper of a scope. It punched through the LP and gave me a crystal clear view of Jupiter and her 4 moons - slight CA as expected with the 102 but some how it added to the beauty and I didn’t mind it one bit! I was in awe of what I could see, I could clearly make out the belts on Jupiter- simply stunning even got meteor flying over - truly majestic.has a look around at M31 also and a few casual slews across the sky - really superb. I’ve had a few scopes in my time, a Celestron 8se, a Sky-Watcher 130, of them all the 102 is my clear favourite, sturdy, robust, well made and pin sharp in its focus and clarity - absolutely love it and will never ever sell it! If anyone is looking for a budget friendly wide field scope that punches above its weight I’d highly recommend it. next clear night I will compare to the 127 Mak and see how it does. as for the zwo224 - still couldn’t get it to work even through the diagonal so needs more work but will keep trying ! it’s certainly not going to spoil whats been a perfect night ! 💫🤗
  18. Thanks for all your help lads it’s much appreciated 👍🏼
  19. Thanks however it was dead level and the alignment was way off so I will have another go tonight cheers
  20. Superb thank you - I have done this just earlier this morning on a tree in the distance and the camera in the diagonal was superb in its image and focus cheers
  21. Yes please - I’ve tried my 25mm EP and my camera in the startravel diagonal and it’s a great picture spot on focus - any idea how I take the image , I clicked on capture but didn’t seem to also anything
