First attempt with Pixinsight

Recommended Posts

Just bought Pixinsight - threw some rubbish data through it to see how it handles it - impressed !!  Well worth the 230 Euros !!!!  30 mins of L 10mins each of RGB - ED80 - Atik 314L+ - expecting great images with decent data and when I have learned to use Pixinsight properly!! (and the skies clear - 1 clear night since August !)

The boy done good!

It's a tricky programme to use and one which seems to tempt people into excess, but nothing about this shouts 'Pixinsight.' I even think you could ease down the black point by a notch and it's not often we can say that.

Well i reckon that is pretty good considering you think the data you started with was not of the highest order. It will be nice to see what you can do when you think you have some quality capture. Well done.

PS I keep threatening to try the small Mammut camera I have on my LX 12inch, only had it two years and never used it. Next thing on the list.

Cheers guys and thanks Harry for the suggestion - MUCH better with the background more neutral - Pixinsight is a steep learning curve - my head hurts now but I sure I will get to grips with it (especially now I have paid for it!)

Good luck there are plenty of pixies here to help if you get stuck :)
