Im torn on what best to use for the jupiter/venus show, do I use the 300mm lens on a standard tripod and set my scope up on a HEQ5 mount in the meantime. would a 2x convertor on the 300 be to much, its going to be clear skies all round so hoping to stay up and get the milky way, Also would it be a thought to video it and then put it through registax, never used it before . I think I will go with the 300 and the widefield  on the SA, but open to any suggestions

Not sure you will have much joy with the Milky Way, the moon will be smack in the middle of the southern view.

Hmmm forgot about the moon being up for the milky way, I still have options though with it being such a clear night (touch wood) I can still go for galaxies or clusters with the scope/camera and as I know I will be out best part of the night can take quite a few subs (and darks this time)
