Orion with basic kit

This is my third attempt at Orion the second go was scuppered by my dog who had kindly placed a hair on my camera sensor anyway this time i  had the vacuum cleaner close to it to make sure (the camera not the dog).

The image was taken with my canon 650D and WOZS71 with the FF/FR on the EQ3-2 with the single motor drive and a reasonably clear session.

I am still a relative newbie with DSS and photoshop (astro related PS anyway)  and have probably overstretched things a little but it will do for now and its all part of the learning process.

The attached image is 30x 30 second subs @ ISO 1600  i am limited to 30s because of very bad LP  but i feel i am at least moving forward.

I did a bit more last night and got this shot with my cheap 135mm F3.5 lens shot wide open 20x 30 second subs and 15 darks i am allways amased how well some of the old M42 lenses perform has some star bloat but only cost me £15.

Nice main pic and good result with the M42 lens ,  Hoovering the hound might be a good idea too   heheh
