  1. Hi all. Its been a while, nearly 3 years not sure how many people are following this so heres a quick update. I couldn't achieve focus with my Skywatcher 150PL and and the mount was terrible, but great for me at the start but i really wanted to get into AP. So I took abit of a break but still used my telescope for visual on clear nights but the AP itch wouldn't go away. Did alot of research, saved up some money and jumped into. Got myself a Skywatcher 200P with a Celestron advance GT mount for a great man in Hull. Had the telescope a few weeks and the brilliant British weather stayed cloudy. This picture was my 2nd attempt at AP with abit of editing in PS. Still a long way to go and its just begun. Thank you for all your great advise so long ago.
  2. That is awesome. Great picture.
  3. I have had the same problem. I've got a skywatcher 150PL but cant get focus unless i use the barlow lens. Looking at getting the Skywatcher 200P HEQ5 hoping i wont get the same problem. Heard some ad reports about the nikon cameras so might just get a canon instead. Will see what happens
  4. Came across this post over google. Was wondering what did you go for in the end and if you did get the skwatcher 200p with HEQ5 how is it because i am myself thinking of getting that scope and mount to try my hand at imaging. Or if anyone else got a suggestion on which scope and mount to go for.
  5. Also from Wrexham would be nice to have a meet one night.
  6. Wow just went on to your website and now i know what i want. Your pictures are amazing made my heart stop for a second there.
  7. Hi there, I'm currently looking at the same scope and set up. Any advise for me before i buy
  8. How about this? http://www.firstlightoptics.com/reflectors/skywatcher-explorer-200pds-heq5-pro.html
  9. Thank you for the advise. Its going to be my first time using a GOTO mount. Would have to learn everything such as balancing the scope and polar aliment which i have only done once :S like you said would be worth it when i do go into astrophotography.
  10. Got used to it after my 150pl but always loved it haha. I just think it might be abit to advance for me after reading reviews online thats why i am sewing towards the 200p EQ :S http://www.firstlightoptics.com/reflectors/skywatcher-explorer-200p-eq5-goto.html
  11. At the moment im in two minds which scope to get to. But im more confused about the mount more then anything. Not sure if i want the Skywatcher AZ EQ6-GT http://www.firstlightoptics.com/skywatcher-mounts/skywatcher-az-eq6-mount.html or this set up http://www.firstlightoptics.com/reflectors/skywatcher-explorer-200p-eq5-goto.html but then i found out i will need a powertank. This is my first time using this advance mount so a little confused. Sorry for hi-jacking
  12. Well I'm still pretty new and a little confused with a few things. Before i start thank you for your replies and hope everyone had a lovely new year and a safe Christmas. Well i have came across some money and been wanting to upgrade my Sky-watcher 15PL EQ3 for a while now to start taking some shoots. Its a good little thing and had some fun with it but got a itch for something better. I have two in mind at the moment. After doing some research and still finding myself abit confused I found the Skywatcher AZ EQ6-GT with Skywatcher 200P-DS. But I feel I might be thrown into the deep end with this mount. http://www.firstlightoptics.com/skywatcher-mounts/skywatcher-az-eq6-mount.html And then there is something different. The skywatcher 200P on a EQ5 GOTO. Would really love to try out a GOTO mount would be a lot more easier to find and shoot objects. http://www.firstlightoptics.com/reflectors/skywatcher-explorer-200p-eq5-goto.html So do I play it safe and go for 200P or the 200P-DS. Thank you in advance for your help and advice.
  13. Well after a few months of really bad skies and not having a clear night for along time i took my telescope out for the first time in months it felt good and cold but worth it. Took some great pictures of the moon but came across a problem maybe someone could help me. I hope everyone had a great christmas and thank you in advance
  14. I will have to give them setting ago. Then do you just put them in DSS then sorted?
  15. Just found out i can make a bahtinov focus mask will the results be the same? http://astrojargon.net/MaskGenerator.aspx
