Andrew*
It's no silly question. I didn't know for mine. But honestly, I don't think it makes a degree of difference what altitude you are.Try google earth!Andrew

The Warthog
You can get the lat and long of your back garden from Google Earth. Or call up a friend who owns a GPS.
The Warthog
OH, altitude. Ask a Boy Scout to show you the ordnance survey map of your location. Read the number off the nearest contour line. I don't think it makes a difference for observing, either. It's just one more thing the GPS can give you.
SteelRat
Is there an Ordinance Survey website to look at? Just a thought.

G1ZmO
Yea I notice that Heavens Above have now added a lot more locations to their database. Previously I had to set my location to Glasgow but now East Kilbride is listed and also the areas within EK! Shows my area at 166 m which sounds about right.Paul
