Coma or what?

200mm f/5 Newt. with an Antares 0.5X FR did this last night. Anybody know what went wrong? It could be that it will always do this, I got it misaligned or IC410 really does look like it just went bang.

Hopefully this can be fixed, or I can get different kit as the FOV with the FR looks good.

No chance of you having had something mist up on you mid take is there

Don't think so. I got this from sub 1 and t first I thought it was trailing. Shortened the subs to reduce the trailing but nothing got any better so I left it running for a bit. 8 subs all identical as far as the starburst effect.

I'm puzzled as I've read stuff about Baader's MPCC or whatever it's called and other FRs having the effect of flattening the field and reducing coma. Must be different to what I've got maybe. (perhaps that's why it costs a whole lot more as well 8) )

Works fine without Gordon - evidence is being processed now instead of me working - just when the FR is in there it goes all kerbam!

Must be Gordon, but did I get it cockeyed or off centre or is it just not going to work is the $64,000 question. I need a lot more clear dark skies to find out. There's a lot of stuff needs finding out I think.

Perhaps try it with a less intensive FR? 0.63 or the like?

Didn't Rog have an issue with an FR that was slightly off kilter a while back???
