Tonights Shots

Took a stab at seeing how far I can push my tracking skills with the Barn Door. Here's my attempt at the M101 Pinwheel galaxy.

It's there and I'm happy. It certainly is a small faint object but I managed to get 2 arms about. I also had two satellites apparently pass through while I was shooting. according to Stellarium it's NOAA 17 and Cosmos 2428 gracing my image.

I also took a stab at trying to get a final go at the flame nebula and Horsehead. Got something. Also I stumbled upon another nebula I didn't know about, m78 (towards the top of the image).

I love the lens. I'm just now getting brave enough/ comfortable with the Barn door tracker and the manual adjustments. So I'm able to get a bit closer than I was with my 18-55mm lens.
