George
Well the dovetail that comes with the Skywatcher 250PX looks flimsy to say the least and if you really tighten the hand screws you can actualy bend the dovetail plus I'm convinced there's some flex in it, soooooooo anyone know where i can buy a SOLID replacement either alu or stainless? Thanks
FLO
Good question.I'd also like to find a source of stiffer, machined dovetails for larger scopes like the 250PX and my SN10. Baader might offer something... Will make enquiries tomorrow.
Kaptain Klevtsov
I got a stiff one from Arthur at Ambermile. (can I rephrase that?) Its solid stuff, with none of the flute kind of grooves in the underside. I've no idea where he got it from but I'm sure he'll know. It has holes drilled every 40mm or so along the length for bolting things on and I'm fairly sure that he said it was extruded.Captain Chaos

GordonCopestake
Bern can supply a new dovetail saddle for the EQ6 so you can use CGE/Losmandy dovetails. They are much wider and much more sturdy than the vixen standard.
