can i do deep sky imaging in summer?

Your latitude will play a big part in answering that question. I'm at just below 52° N & can normally image for a couple of hours at the Summer Solstice. The further north you are though, the more difficult it becomes & many UK-based imagers are forced to give up until the onset of August.

I'm at 53 degrees and I find I can't really image between late May and late mid July - the sky doesn't really get dark enough for deep sky work. I did manage some decent images from mid August onwards last year though
