Did some heavy duty messing with Photoshop

Basically just stretched the background and left the moon alone. I then pasted an exposure which showed the moon detail on top.

I think that's a great effort CC. I can't imagine the problems trying to get both to show up in a photograph. It gives a great sense of scale. Nice one.

Nice capture.

I glimpsed this last night and although we had guests, I just had to set up - not a popular decision with wifey. My best view was through the 8x50 finderscope!!!!

The binos had too much internal reflections and the scope had too narrow a field of view. Naked eye the glare really limited what I could see of the pleieidieidis (M45)

You have done really well to get any sort of star image on that photo. I could see 3 maybe 4 naked eye. My younger brother came out, (has never looked through a telescope before, knows nothing about astronomy), and started counting the stars he could see. Happily counted six! My poor deteriorating 32 year old eyes!
