£240 gets you a EQ5 Deluxe and that doesnt have any motors or circuit boards (to give you the Goto) all you get is manual hand controls

I dont think they do, Ive just had a look on a few sites, and i cant even see an EQ5 syntrek, but they do a heq5 syntrk but thats more than an EQ5 goto

£240 for the EQ-5 mount + £90 for the dual axis drive unit is as close as you can get.. have to agree, most retailers don't seem to list the syntrek option any more

i'd be fine installing motors if that was the case. what about the control box that attaches to the tripod does that come with the motor kit?

Do you want a goto without the handset? You could always get the upgrade kit for an EQ5 and do a deal with someone that has a HEQ5/EQ6 syntrek that wants the synscan handcontroller.
