UV/IR Filter

Hi All,

I got my SPC880 today with adapter from Morgans, I flashed it and it works ok (except I cant see a thing due to clouds).

People have metioned UV and Ir filters for this cam but what do I need or do I need both?

most filters will do both,this one is a light pollution filter as well

I think I know the answer to this, but is it really worth spending 30+ quid on a filter like this for webcam imaging when you can get them for £10?

The uv/ir blocking filter is on Morgans website for around a tenner, same page as the spc880

(it's a single filter)

morgans certainly have got in on the astro market ! with there webcam sets ect... but i will still stick with the baader filters

Can't beat the Baaders I think Morgans did it so you can get the complete package (camera, adaptor, and uv/ir blocker) all at the same time.

i was looking at the neodyium ones but wasn`t sure as i have the baader uv/ir filter already so might not get that much of an increase in quality for the extra money, but i must say the baader do look and feel quality filters, ight have to make a phone call to FLO to see what they think

this one is a light pollution filter as well

You do NOT need that with a web cam. It will spoil the colour balance.
