Finder or Red Dot Finder ?

What are the "pros" and "cons" for these, for use on a 90mm refractor ? What woud members recommend ?

I wear glasses (short sighted) but not whilst observing through an EP.

I put a red dot finder on my frac. It's simply a case of placing the red spot where you know roughly where the object you're looking for is, then putting a low power eyepiece in and using your 'scopes optics as the finder. I wear specs also but don't find that a problem.

I use both a Telrad and a 8x50 finder on my Dobs and find both work really well.

There are pros and cons for each but IMO both work very well and i would feel lost without one or the other.

you will get some mixed results here, i think its down to personal preference, i personally like Visual finders but like i say its a personal thing. best to try both

If theres room for both use both... I once had A GLP , Red Dot and traditional finder on one of my scopes...

If its only going to be a red dot type finder and you plan on star hopping then go for a telrad...

Yes, like Steve, I also have Quickfinder ( dot as well as circle ) and 8x50 on my dob and they work well together. Don't know whether you can make them both out on the picture.
