Hi MJ & welcome

Went to Northern CA a few years back - SF,  Mendocino, Willits Rodeo, Reno (almost CA), Tahoe, Yosemite, Pacific Grove, Santa Cruz...

Great trip..

You might try a light pollution filter, or try an find a decent spot out of the lights :)
