Idiots guide to DSS

Is there a idiots guide to using DSS antwhere,

Trying to make a Bias File, but just can not get my head round it.

Have taken 20 shots with Camera cover on.

Loaded them into DSS.

Then clicked on them all.

But what happens next.

Would welcome any help.

If you are trying to make a Master Bias you have to load it in with some light frames as well...ie load 2 light frames then all of the bias frames and process in the normal way. It will save a master bias in the folder where the bias frames came from, You dont need to save the resulting image that is stacked(or the auto save file).

you can achieve that with a single light frame, in fact it can be anything, as long as it's loaded as a light frame.

The lights are the "Images". I use a CCD so mine are shot in 'FITS'

The master bias will be saved as a TIFF

No, to create a master bias, any image file can be used. Probably best to use the same format though.
