M81 (NGC 3031) Bodes Nebula

Hi

Well here is my M81 given there was a moon which was not at all helpful I kept exposures to 120 seconds

This was taken with my Skywatcher 250 and unmodded Cannon 450D. Stacked in DSS and processed in PS.

Framing is not brilliant but im happy with my first M81, although I thout it may come out a little larger ?

Lights 30 x 120 secs

Darks 15 x 120 Secs

Flats 15

The moon is a right pain for those of us that can't image in HA, isn't it? You've persevered though and captured some good detail in M81 & M82!

It seems your flats haven't worked properly though Try stacking without them and remove the gradient in post-processing using GradentXTerminator (or similar)

It's a good first go. And you have some good detail.

The full moon is a right royal pain in the you know where.
