Hi, you can download for free a virtual planetarium programe called stellarium and it will show you what is visible from your location at any given time.

Failing that Saturn is visible almost due South about 32 degrees up from the horizon at around 6am from the UK.

I was lucky enough to find Saturn the Morning after i received my scope....Got up at 4.30am and managed to locate it quite easily using Venus as a guide....Its now becoming visible about 00.30am..Using Stellarium and the star Spica as a guide you should have no problem..I was buzzing when i saw it, very overwhelming....Good Luck..:icon_eek:

I think a planisphere is great for getting to know the constellations and getting a feel for how the sky 'moves' through the night and over the year. Yes I know Stellarium does that too but I suppose I have an attachment to the planisphere because that's what I learned on, and because it's 'hands-on' rather like a book.

I agree, i too learned to use a planisphere and it`s also great to use in the field as we dont always have laptops with us.
