HI Jinstan,

in a way ,you are correct,but also not.Sunlight is complex.

The spectrophotographers would tell you that.

H alpha ,for example needs highly specialised filter systems

to isolate in this narrow band.

However,the other pics are derived from,as,for example, in the first instance

Fe. That is the Fe 94 spectrum.

Hey, this is very specialised and out of the range, as yet ,of

most of us amateurs. The results are intriguing though,and I thought

they would be interesting.

Great animation,

Wonder if you can answer a question about Halpha Solar viewing. My friend just obtained a Lunt Ha Double Stacked (60mm) Solar scope. While viewing the sun through it and observing sun spots and flares I noticed an effect which appeared like small black pinpoints flashing all over the image. I put my eye to the eyepiece several times to confirm I wasn't imagining this. I have never noticed this before and wonder if you have any idea what this might be? James
