Choosing an OTA for my EQ6

I am looking to buy a new OTA for visual observing and webcamming of planets. Later on I shall but another OTA for DSO photography, but that is for another day.

This OTA will be used on my EQ6 and would mainly be used from my garden, but needs to be portable enough to take along to a dark site once in a while.

The current favourite is a Celestron C9.25 XLT SCT, but I would like to consider all options before parting with my cash. So what other OTAs should I be considering?

the only other ota that comes to mind is the tal 250k, but slightly less aperture and a shorter focal length, think i would go with the celestron tbh, remember the mak cool down times though, my omc can take an hour to sort it!

C9.25 works great on an EQ-6

Easy to pick up too with the handle and light weight. EQ-6 is a bit heavy though...

I have a Meade 127mm refractor on my EQ6, gives me great views of the planets and is not too heavy for going out to dark skies.

I think you have it with the C9.25. Damian Peach rates it on his website as being no less effective than his C11 so that would be good enough for me. Visual plus planetary imaging - yes, I think I'd go for the same as you.
