EQ mount strip fettle n regrease

Well - had my RA drive for a while and it's found a couple of tight spots. Gonna perform a 'strip-fettle-n-regrease' over the weekend. First thing on the cards is a trip out for decent grease for the worm and gear.

What's best to go for - silicon, lithium or what based? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I did a thing on stripping one of these a few years ago.....

I used a synthetic bicycle chain lube, nice n green it twas.....Did the big frac and the big Newt focusers as well.

You don't want anything too viscous, my focusers are nice and smooth now.

Did the EQ3...Vast improvement, tighten everything up and a regrease will work wonders.

I did a regrease, strip down on my meade, all the pundits said use WHITE Lithium grease, just typed in white lithium , on Ebay and a racing company sent it out that day, it cost me about £1:50-£2:00 it did the business for, me hope this helps
