I really set up to try to image the Horsehead nebula, but took a few shots of the moon anyway before I went in to dinner.

Of course when I came out again the clouds were back! Just shows that you have to take every opportunity you get.

Yes, I'm pleased with the image.

I'd set the camera up with the nebula filter I'd just bought from you, and left it in for the moon shot. Don't know if it made the image better or worse. Perhaps I ought to do a few trials later, you never know, it may be a great moon filter !

Does anyone else think the curve of the moon is not quite round? It seems a little flat between 4 and 6 o'clock to me, but there again, I'm a bit :tard: ...

It's probably your monitor !

If you have a drawing package, draw a circle on your screen.

I bet if you measure the circle across and vertically that the vertical is larger than the horizontal.
