Venus!

As a change from all the (awesome) Jupiter shots here recently, here's a slender Venus crescent I caught this morning at some ungodly hour when normal people were in a nice warm bed. It was just above my garden fence and I managed to get it before the first glow of light appeared on the horizon so the sky was nice and black.

Very nice. As Venus is so bright it is reasonably straight forward to image it in daylight and so no need to be up early. It is impressively bright however in the early morning sky and a sight not to be missed.

Had a look at Venus this morning, very striking in the scope. Dare i say it looked better than Saturn at the moment. Beautiful crescent phase!
