pbyrne
Hi allOnly got one sketch in last night, NGC 404 in Andromeda, also known as Mirach's Ghost. I had originally belived that NGC 404 was almost directly behind Mirach, and I was surprised to see that it was quite a distance away. Initially I believed that it was some kind of internal reflection, but the galaxy core and fainter surround ing nebulosity were visible.Hope you like it.Thanks for looking. bish
Nice sketch. I was going to have a go at finding this one (but probably need dark skies) - now I know where to look.
pbyrne
Thanks BishYou don't need pristine skies for this, I sketched this from my heavily polluted back garden.
DarkerSky
Nice one Paul. Great sketch. I saw Mirach's Ghost about a month ago, and like you was pleasantly surprised how removed it was from Mirach itself. I also saw it larger in the EP with my 12". I think with a darker sky you'd see more of it.
