PC Software Question.

Being a complete novice to this hobby I was wondering if anyone could advise us as to the best computer software programmes for assisting us in our explorations.

The main ones that seem to come up are: Starry Night Enthusiast 6 Or: Redshift 6.

We have a PC with a good deal of RAM and we are running Windows 7. Could anyone please advise as to which is the best softare of these 2, or is there something else out there?
