First solar sketch with iPad

This afternoon I had a half hour between the clouds, which was not enough to do decent solar imaging. I decided to try my luck with Sketchbook Pro on my iPad. Great drawing program, you don't even need a pencil, just draw with your findertop.

I am at a very beginner level at this, but it looks like a good path. The most tricky part is to fetch the drawing from iPad. I did it via DropBox, that way my sketches are always saved on the Pc also.

The sketch below is activity group 1117, the scope was a Mede series 5000 127mm apo with Baader solar filter through an 8mm ocular.

cheers,

Janos

Ah, like that, I'm building up my case for splashing out on an iPad, and every little helps!!

Do it - best thing I ever bought...

Use it for work, home, travel. Watch sky sports BBC Iplayer, the works.

I get my newspapers, magazines and books through it as well as storing work docs for going to meetings.

The astro apps are great, use it out and about when observing. Keeps your logs and everything...

Great piece of kit.

Wife thinks I'm nuts of course...

Can you get the images to your PC using iTunes sync?

Terry, I just tried it: from the Sketchbook Album you can save your sketch for iTunes, so it will be synchronized when you connect to your Pc the next time.

cheers,

Janos
