I'm impressed by his speed. He gets very deep very fast. I think this is far and away his best image.

Amazing image. A LOT of dynamic range compression is needed to show all this in a single shot. Really an art in itself to make all these features at such vastly difference surface brightness accessible to the human eye.

Could you use a C8 with a hyperstar attachment to do this kind of shot? At F2, surely it should be ideal for wide angle images? Or does the 200mm aperture overexpose the stars? I'm only asking because I never see hyperstar images posted on the site.

I think the focal length will too long (if you want a single shot,not a mosaic), so the FOV is too small. I myself would get out my excellent 85mm F/1.4 Zeiss Planar short telephoto, and see how I can strap a good CCD to it.
