Can you use the QHY5 for solar imaging

Just a quick question as my Baader Solar Film has arrived.

I have the QHY5 camera which can be used as a guide camera or a lunar/planetary camera however can it also be used on the sun.

It is black and white but is this a bad thing for the sun through the Baader filter.

Alternatively I have a Phillips SPC9000NC.

in the QGvideo programme there is an option for solar. No idea what it does but it sounds like they have thought about solar imaging

Yes you can I used mine last year for solar and planetary imaging with Qvideo

Mono is no issue for solar work ... but the QHY5 is a CMOS chip & therefore noisier than a CCD. Probably about as good as an ordinary webcam, and with a larger chip area too (which is usually an advantage). What's the frame rate like?
