EQ6 Tripod. Question

Hi All,

Can you buy a EQ6 tripod (new) on its own?. I know you can get the HEQ5 (bought it for my EQ3 ). Thought about moving up to a EQ6 tripod instead!. I thought... if the HEQ5 fits, so must a EQ6 one!!

I think the mount head on the HEQ5 and the EQ6 is different.... Bern can sell you an EQ6 tripod though, I think they are around £120 if i remember right. Bern?

The tripod/heads are different, they won't fit "as is". You'll need some sort of adaptor Rob.

Rob, The celestron GT mount comes with the 2" tripod and you can just drop the HEQ5 Head into it withought any modification or adapter. I did it and it works fine. I don't know if you can just get the tripod From David Hinds.

I believe the CG5 mount is the same as the HEQ5 mount with the different mount head. The HEQ5 is the tall one and the EQ6 one is the short one (i believe)
