Meade 16" lightbridge truss-tube dobsonian. on eBay (end time 12-Sep-10 19:08:50 BST)

Couple of scratches on it, new and unused (apparently - good feedback on the seller by the look of it though). Doesn't say where the scratches are.

It's just about in collection range for me, but I don't think I could handle the thing tbh (or afford it at the moment anyway - a bit spent out ).

I bet this was the one that was purchased at the telescope planet auction sale for £150, not long back as the seller appears to live near.

If that's the one he appears to be making a tidy profit already!!

yawza! did you see the price it went for, a staggering £1100!! Really wish I had been to that auction!

Yes I watched the last few minutes and it went bonkers between 40 and 10 seconds before the end.

I sure wish I had known about that auction too.

Most second hand 16" Lightbridges go for about £1,000.00 nowadays. Two years ago you could pick one up a brand new one for £1,095.00.

The suggested retail price was £1,295 but was discounted at some dealers to £1,095.00.

I could understand them putting up the price up to say £1,495.00 though, but not what they have put it up to. At the current price I simply wouldn't buy one new as you could buy an Orion Optics UK basic 16" dob with better optics at about the same price.
