Jupiter 13/14 Aug Europa Shadow and Moon Transit

Delayed results from last week

conditions were average with clouds appearing now and again,

on 14th had total cloud cover just after moon transit began,

lucky to get full shadow transit tho,

1st time i have viewed and imaged any transit so i am pleased

regardless, Shadow transit and moon transit were easily spotted when viewing too at 300x mag

think moon transit pic 3.05am is annoying as looks like 2 moons rather than 1

and almost looks like GRS, maybe need to align moon somehow ?

captures were for 2-3m at 10fps, then stacking around 800 -1000 frames

comments advice appreciated

4th pic is 2 frame animation

and 5th pic is 5 frame animation

and may need to be clicked on to start

James

Great work James! Love the animations! (how do you do that?).

thx for all comments

Stuart, (i'm not doing correct method but heres what i do)

i basically crop orig pics i want to include

and save crops as GIF files in seperate folder,

i then open as layers 1st gif frame in Gimp followed by other gifs i want to include in correct sequence,

once all frames opened as layers

i then save as GIF animation

Gimp will ask if u want to flatten image or save as animation make sure animation is selected

u then have few options for time delay between frames i selected 900ms

and frame by frame etc, u can then save in ur gif folder

u can check how it looks by opening with internet explorer or windows picure and fax viewer works aswell

u can align layers somehow lol but so far i haven't bothered just trying to get my crops more accurate

HTH and u understand

thx again for all comments
