Jupiter looks like it is going to be a good one tonight

Ganymede transit and GRS all at the same time around 2.50 AM

I shall fill the coffee pot now ready looks like it will be a late one

I hope the sky was clear for you and you got to see that transit and GRS combo. It's always a special feeling when you get to see something like that

Skies were clear and I saw the transit but no GRS. I called it quits at 03:10am but I did also manage to see Uranus, well I think the dot I was looking at was Uranus anyway. ;)

No images though as the lappy decided to throw it's toys on the floor last night and wouldn't boot up. So I was just on visual ops last night.

Still, it was enjoyable all the same and after pulling the lappy apart today and fiddling with a few things, it's now working again.

Thank you

Surprisingly it did stay clear until about 3.30 am

I did see the transit

As for the GRS I just could not make it out even though I knew where to look

Was hoping to see it this time but just didn't happen for me Jupiter itself was a fine sight very clear with many bands on show but I have yet to see the GRS

I assume the GRS is not that easy to make out if you have not seen it before?

Thx DarkerSky/riklaunim

No wonder I have never seen GRS as I have been using stellarium for my hunting times

Looking at the link it is a long way out at the moment

Now I can try at the proper times and maybe I will get to see it
