EOS clip filter

At the moment I'm using the EOS clip filter with my Canon EOS 1000D for my DSO work. (My camera is unmodded)

I'm wondering whether the lack of sensitivity in the red channel in my images might be partly due to the severity of the clip filter - I do realise that modding a camera greatly increases its sensitivity but this isn't a cost option for me at the moment and I do still want to use the camera for daytime work.

I was wondering whether I might get better results using a 2" LP filter such as the Skywatcher LP filter for about £26 on FLO or the Baader neodymium one at about £70. Does anyone have experience using both and being able to compare?

Any thoughts would be appreciated

I've used both the cls clip and the sw filters. Not sure I've noticed much difference in the red channel though. My Orion wide field was with the cls and that's got plenty of red on it. I've found the cls is a bit to harsh at f/7.5 though and the sw let's through more light.

I currently use the non ir cut CLS Clip filter in my 450D, it does give a slight tint of Blue in the images, but I don't think it improve the red channel unless you mod the camera.
