I took this image after shooting the large mosaic (in preparation) on May 22. Sunlight is just catching the three central peaks ...

2054 UT. William Optics FLT 110, Celestron Ultima x2 barlow, Planet Pro 742 IR pass filter, Imaging Source DMK41 camera. 1000 frames shot, best 250 stacked using Avistack.

Transparency fair, seeing moderate (significant boiling). Temperature 13C, wind calm.

Note the rapid progress of the terminator: the central peaks of Copernicus were completely unilluminated in this image; the terminator was shot first, 20-25 minutes before the image above.
