Pacman Nebula

A bigger field of the Pacman Nebula , showing the dark lane through it , this was taken with the Celestron gps 8 and Fast Star System ,using the HA filter ,55 subs at 40 seconds , processed in Maxim SD MASK

ahh haaa thought some one would ask , OK , when the images are stacked in maxim , you have various ways of doing this , trial and error in most cases till you find the one that suits , SD mask corrects all hot pixels , any rotation is corrected in Maxim and lines the stars , but this however will not line uphot pixels , so you would get small lines instead of pin point pixels , Maxim SD eleminates all hot pixels and lines ,

clever stuff James , Maxim is a very powerful imaging tool

Sounds interesting stuff Rog, i like the idea of it. Is SD MASK built into Maxim DL or is it a Plug in?

I have Maxim DL but cant seem to be able to find it anywere?.

its built in James , need to get the combine box up and its in there in the drop down box at the bottom of the combine box ,,ok!!

Hi Rog,

Sorry to be a Pain but when i go to the drop down menu i get the following options which lead to to think i need to update the software?

NONE

Auto correlation

Auto star matching

Manuel one star shifting

Manuel 2 stars

Overlay.

Or am i looking in the wrong place?

Shame the weather is poor Rog, just been outside myself and it's cloudy..

Lol my version is 2.07 and prob wasnt even thought of when it was released. Gonna look if there is a update file anywere on the Net?..

No after seeing some of rog's images I think the only way forward is a C8 with Fast Star!

Once again Rog a stunner. You'll have to post a few Rubbish one's soon Rog - I'm running out of adjectives.
