Now that is an extremely impressive sketch..really liking that a lot. What a thrill that must have been to pick those 3 up in the EP.

Dreyer has Ngc 4222 down as Mag 14 and vF !! Steve Gottlieb's NGC notes has it as a Vis mag of 13.3 and SB of 13.6

I love tracking things that faint down. Got a galaxy called IC 1017 last night in Bootes that was a vis mag of 13.7 :)

The Sky6 has IC1017 down as mag 14.8 if that is correct then thats awesome to see it. Right next to it is Ngc 5629 at mag 12.1 are you sure you didn't see this instead.

Steve Gottlieb's notes - Adventures In Deep Space; Steve Gottlieb's NGC Notes - IC 1001 - 2000 - has IC 1017 down as mag 13.7

I know it was not NGC 5629 as I saw that as well. They made an amazing pairing. I originally thought I was seeing IC 1018 as that is the closest one to 5629 on stellarium. But a google search at about 3am (!!) came up with a SEDs image of the area and Steve's description from his 17.5" saying that IC 1017 is the 2nd brightest of a cluster of five in the same FOV. As I could only see two in my FOV, and comparing what I saw to the SEDs image, I deduced that it must be IC 1017

I made a sketch - will post soon
