The numbers of people taking up astronomy and joining the best forum on the planet is quite amazing, at this rate the hobby will be in safe hands for many many years to come.

There has certainly been a lot of new members joining lately.

Its not only an interest in astronomy that they are joining but also surely the fact that SGL is undoubtedly the most friendly community/resource that I have come across.

I have been with the forum some two years and have seen it grow quite rapidly, the For Sale section receives a lot of interest nowadays from outside and inside, newcomers are treated gently and with respect, with a wealth of information imparted with much enthusiasm and friendliness, long may it contiue to do so.
