ISS and Capella Starfield 19:08 11-03-2010

Recommended Posts

I got setup in plenty of time tonight and seeing as the ISS was passing close to Capella it was easy to leave the scope "guiding" on it....

Canon 1000D on Megrez 72 & FFIII fl 345mm at f4.6

10s Exposure ISO400 Exposure started 8s before ISS passed Capella to allow starfield to be captured and the ISS track to end before it actually passed it...

Thanks for looking

Cheers Ron...

It was a bettr effort than last nights.. pity the D200 battery ran out a few seconds before the ISS became visible... I wanted to take a few mins before and the pass itself to get longer star trails... oh well there's always tomorrow...

The Nikon Batts are about 6 year old now so might need retiring...

Cheers Both,

I want to captue an "extinction" to have a tapering trail across the frame.. thats the next challenge... the darker skies will also allow a deeper starfield image to be captured... i'll probably grab a few frame before hand to stack for even more depth..
