Can anyone tell me how i can get a better polar alignment? once set up i have polaris set exactly in the centre of the viewfinder and telscope. However after reading some of the posts on here it appears the pole is actually 1 degree away from polaris, how would i set this in the viewfinder i do not have a polar finderscope yet but would like to keep tracking for longer periods i can get up to 1 minute at the moment and have been led to believe i can get this upt to 5 - 10 minutes uncorrected tracking is this right?

:)

Are you wanting to polar align for imaging? If so, then for 5 mins unguided images, your polar alignment will have to be reasonably accurate for your scope. There are a number of techniques for improving your PA, some of which require a polarscope. One method which doesn't require a polarscope is Drift alignment as shown in Andy Shott's video. An alternative description of this same technique is described here
