I think with the 1.25" you may well get vignetting (at least that was the discussion I seem to remember having when I was looking at this). Going 2" all the way gives you the largest possible aperture. The T-ring is 42mm clear, but obviously down to 30mm of the 1.25" tube. The 2" is around 50mm

If the barlow has a t thread on the barrel, such as the Skywatcher 2x deluxe, then you can connect the t ring directly to it.The barlow lens will then increase the focal length of the telescope by the power of the barlow. The barlow lens can be used on its own to increase the image size. Some people are using DSLRs that are capable of liveview (streaming video directly to a laptop) to photograph planets.
