Double cluster

The dawn was arrinving and I had had a frustrating night with bands of high cloud which kept drifting in.  Just about to pack in when decided to have a go at this.  One of those that looks better through the scope but I was gathering crumbs at this stage.  It's a mosaic although I was in such a hurry to beat daylight that there was a a lot of overlap so not as large an image as I would have liked.

NS8 atik, 2HS, cls filter, each component 5x6 sec subs.  Stacked in registax and cobbled together in photoshop.

From this months Astronomy Now:

If the Double Cluster were located at the distance of the Pleiades (407 light years), one quarter of the northern sky would be filled by its stars and many of its 600 or so members would shine more brilliantly than the planet Venus!

 8)
